Oh and when i tried to boot from the MANDRAKE CD1, it went into an installer--- looked like it was going to wipe my disk and start over with a new Linux wants to change my bootloader to grub or lilo.....probably a good idea, but since i don;t know why we are using "BootIt" i figure i'd best not change it.

The new version of StarOffice 5.1a doesn't require a media key or a registration key any more. COL2.4 comes standard with version 5.1a. 6.7. ..... COL2.4 comes with the graphical bootloader grub. My bootloader is grub and it is working fine, but I want to make rh9.0 the default os. When I boot the rh install cd and go through the bootloader and that the first entry is numbered 0, the second is 1, and so forth (*nix numbering ;-§ ). least that's what mine (7.3) does, but maybe it's all new with 9.

Bizarre Problem with GRUB
You would need to boot into single user mode (this requiers that the bootloader isn't password protected) For grub (boot loader), you reinstall the bootloader grub: grub-install lilo: lilo -v Of course you can now change all the user passwords at this point # passwd <username> Then enter the new password twice
