Reinstalling grub
If I try to install a second copy of WinXP on the same disk, will it overwrite the MBR and Grub? I need to. 1. Install the copy of WinXP 2. Have the additional new WinXP system available from the Windoze bootloader that grub chainloads me to. 3. Not have Grub obliteriated by the new install of WinXP.

When I checked the BootLoader Configuration with YaST I noted that the BootLoader is GRUB. Do I need to worry about this? If you are running grub there is no post-install step to run. You only need to check that the new kernel has been entered into /boot/grub/menu.lst.

Lilo and Grub
I have recently installed Red Hat Linux 9.0 and am using its bootloader GRUB. Unfortunately, Windows XP Home Edition is now refusing to boot properly, and I am inclined to blame boot.ini. A new partition had to be made (ext3 format) before the ntfs XP partition (C:) for the linux boot loader.

Process for changing bootloader from Grub to Lilo
There must be an option for GRUB, as GRUB is the only boot loader powerful enough to boot the Hurd. There is an option. It's just not the default. So if you have remote control of the power (or can phone someone who only knows enough to push reset) then you could put in a new kernel last on the list and then
